Default Fuel Issue after Installing New FPR/Injectors

I've got a bit of a wierd issue thats just started.

I've just put my engine back in, after fitting a new clutch, headers, 18g, 550's and an Apexi FPR... Now when I switch the ignition on, you can hear the fuel pump prime, the FPR shows nearly 2Bar of pressure, but whats its actually doing is filling up the cylinders with fuel!!
I've since taken the plugs out, and you can physically see petrol pouring out of all 4 cylinders when the ignition is switched on!!

HELP!!

Now its my thinking that the injectors shouldn't be letting ANY fuel through unless the engine is cranked.

My only guess is that something is FUBAR'd with the injectors, as I know the FPR is OK, as I had it on my other scooby. The injectors were working OK on the previous car, as I bought them from a member on here!

The injectors are Phase 2 Andy F 550's with a set of adaptors from Zen - If that helps??

Cheers in advance

Mark

Have you checked that the O rings on the injectors are sealing correctly?

The O rings at the top of the injectors or the one's on the adaptors?? As they all felt VERY snug when I was putting them in!

As Banny says, if the bottom o-ring on the injector is damaged, then the fuel will pass it and fill the cylinder. Pull the injectors out and check them, a good tip to fitting them is to smear a little vaseline on the o-rings before installation, stops them snagging or tearing on fitment.
Just a warning, don't start the car like this whatever you do, as the fuel in the cylinder will cause a hydraulic lock, as the fuel wont compress like air, and you could end up bending a con rod or at the least fill the oil with fuel. I had this very same problem on my last car.

Yep, I put them on, and they were nice and tight, but wouldn't that stop the fuel from exiting the top of the fuel rail/injectors?? If anything, it would be the ones on the adaptors? But all 4 orings either not seating or fitting correctly??
Is there a special process for fitting the adaptors?
I took the original Orings out, placed the adaptors in there, then seated the injectors. I assume thats correct??

Does the fuel pressure gauge drop off straight away, or does it hold pressure?

well as it primes it holds for a few seconds, but to be honest, as soon as I knew it was pi$$ing fuel out of the cylinders I switched it off
Has anyone else fitted the Zen Adaptors?? As now I'm thinking I wasn't supposed to remove the original O rings from the bottom of the injectors seats, but the adaptors didn't seem to fit otherwise!

The only way for fuel to enter the cylinders this way, is via the injector o rings.

Pull the injectors out, and inspect all the o rings. Replace any that aren't perfect, or just replace them all if you're not certain.

Also, do an oil change, because fuel will have contaminated it.

A leak free system should hold fuel pressure, ignition on or off.
Are you saying the injectors are fitted to the adaptors with no o-rings between them? If this is the case, then thats the problem.
As above, apply vaseline to the o-rings, as they can be very tight, helps them slide in better.

There were the main large O ring at the top of the injectors, then the adaptors had their own O rings, but if I remember ther were no O rings between the "Injecting" end and the adaptors! Thats probably what the fault is! I assume there are supposed to be O rings at the top and bottom on Phase 2 injectors??

Yep, o-rings top and bottom! Without the o-ring at the injecting end, the fuel will constantly bypass the adaptors, filling the cylinders.
