Default How Good are the Internals of an STI9?

Have tried the search with no luck.

Does anyone know what sort of power you can safely run on an sti9's standard internals.

I'm was thinking about running
FMIC
Std Turbo
Tubular Headers (wrapped)
3" Full system with sports cat
Std air box with other panel filter

Chris,

You,ll be fine with the above, people run them 400+ fella..

I,m not saying that ALL engines are the same, as some will/do go **** up, but i,m sure you,ll be fine with the mods mentioned..

I,m running 350/350 proved on a dodgy classic engine

Cheers

I don't want over 400. I'm looking for 350+BHP with a similar torque figure.

Sorry,
Just meant my VF35 made 350bhp easily enough, as Tidgy said he wasn't sure it could do it. Was just saying mine has done it ok

Tony is well into in his "Model Years"; STi "Versions"; STi "Type UK", etc... and woe betide anyone that doesn't play ball and make the correct distinction.

If it's a Hawkeye STi it's got a VF43 turbo and is good for 360-380bhp with the right mods

In theory an STI v9 would (if they still continued the numbering convention) be a JDM 2003 year car, unfortunately as the UK and JDM cars differ and some relate an STI 9 to a hawkeye 2.5 or a 2005 model year UK car it gets confusing, so hence they dont use the numbering, but you knew that anyway

Arguably - You don't need a FMIC for the power level you're looking at, and that combined with tubular headers (equal length?) could give you some extra turbo lag? Ported and wrapped standard headers may be a better bet.
Although you didn't mention it, I am assuming you will include re-mapping as part of the package? Without it I think you could be rather disappointed with the result as well as putting your engine at great risk!
