Hi
If anyone can help , drove my rally car into my workshop yesterday after it was washed outside , started ok , drove about 30yds and it cut out , I thought it had run out of fuel , put fuel in today and it wouldn't start , realised that the fuel pump wont prime , I have taken the pump out of the tank and it works fine with a live and neutral off a battery , When I switch the power on I have 10 volts at the plug for about 10 seconds that connects to the pump , but when you turn the ignition on and off the pump doesnt work at all , anyone have any idea's ??
Cheers Ian

hiya mate is your pump a standard one? if not 10 volts might not be enough to kik the pump over. if not you might have got water in a connection or something on the feed for the pump causing a bad connection. can you read voltage when power is under load i had this problem with mine. it was loosing power under load because of a bad connection. i bought a set of very fine power probes to go on my multi meter to test when it was plugged in. dunno if this will help but thought id say
Hi Ian,
I had a similar problem with mine a couple of months ago. It turns out I had water in the ECU causing it to do funky stuff. It was a apexi PFC which aren't enclosed like the oe ones.
Might be worth checking?

If all you have done is start and drive it in id be tempted to start with the easy things first, if you had been on some rally stage and got a jolt then maybe something else, also it was under cover so Im not to keen on the water in ecu theory at this time.
hth
Ian it shows as being driverside, footwell or around the fuse box area on auto data, you maybe able to hear it when u turn the ignition on to the 2nd stage and it would normally prime the system,
Sherman, I had missed the washed bit so cant rule it out but its easier to start with a few fuses and relays first, but your correct its worth lifting the carpet and checking.
