Question speedo out?

well i changed my gear box. and on the way to srr, i noticed the speedo was out. the clock said 80 but the gps thingy said 70

before with the old box, it was only out by 3mph.
is there anyway to ajust these clocks?

its a uk 95 with a p1 box.
thanks in advance

hi m8

i dont think you can re calibrate the clocks without goin to subaru
who should ba able to do this but may charge a fair bit

is the new box got the same final drive ratio as the one u have removed, if not i`m sure u have to get the right ratio`s between gear box and diff or they will wind uo and go bang

so basically if the ratio is different from your old box to new box your speedo will be out now because of the diff in the new box will be slightly different ratio (poss i dont know)

if this is the case you need to find out the wheel tyre sizes for a p1 and try to get somewhere near this if u can!

if the roling circumference of the wheels is different the speedo will be out of sync

i`d get a second oppinion though i may be wrong

the p1 came with im sure 17''
to which i have

there different ratios, but the diff & box do match. being a 4.44 rear diff
it could be the speed senser, i'll have to look into it

just need a starting point.
thus this thread...

any ideas i get, will help to solve this.

The wheels may be 17" but the tyre sizes may be different which could be effecting things.

i've got 40's on there.
but the same wheels/tyres were on the other box.

i guess it could be the speed senser?
i'll get an early classic one. see if that makes a difference
