INTERCOOLER WATERSPRAY
Hi we have a 52 sti with waterspray. We only use it on the road. What I`d like to know having never tried it does the waterspray make a noticeable difference when used.
When I bought the car there was like white water marks over the engine I cleaned the engine bay and the marks have never returned was this residue from the waterspray?
If you use it is it possible to over use it?
Any advice on this feature of the car would be appreciated

The waterspray cools the air in the intercooler making it more dense, that in turn means you get more power, so yes it does do something and those white marks, chances are that they are chlorine in the water.

Thanks Tony next question is the amount of performance gain worth the pain of cleaning up the white marks.
Or if I use filtered or boiled water ( after it`s cooled down of course ) or deionised water would that prevent the white marks anybody any advice.
We don`t use the car everyday so experimenting could be a long process any wise owls out there who have been there got the t shirt so to speak.

Sorry to do a holy hijack here, but would waterspray be worth fitting to a standard UK Turbo? is it boost activated or manually pumped via switch on the dashboard?
Cheers!
Cheers!

Hi Greatgonzo I`ll have to check out the handbook I just thought people on here would know what`s best to use as experience is often better than print.
And yes my Uk sti has a manual switch not sure if pressing it emits water just while it`s pressed or whether it`s a timed affair.
