Default Coil Pack Help

Could someone please tell me if there is a way to check if the coil pack is faulty. A guy told me that one of them on the drivers side was broken and making a ticking noise, so i've pulled the front one out to have a look but i dont know what i'm looking for to be honest.

My subaru is a 95 import and has the coil packs are on the spark plug

Can anyone please let me know asap!

Thanks Claire

Mine looks exactly like the one you sent me, cracked in half and now that bit has fallen off. Thanks for the advice

yer i will do, i can only afford to buy two at the moment because i have lost my job like many others so money is tight. So i'll change the two on the drivers side and when i get more money change the other two. Dont want to pull them off incase another one brakes like this one and i'll be stuck. The guy that had this car before me really didn't look after her. I had to change the knock sensor before christmas and when i pulled it off it was cracked in half and they had tried to tape it back together. I know she is ona 95 plate but surly they would have thought of changing these things. I already have changed the plugs, engine oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid, pads and disc's and i haven't had her long,These are just service things. Oh well

Thanks Claire

Depending on how bad the one you've checked is you can tape them up as a temp measure or find a breakers with an early impreza and see if the coilpacks are alright i know ScoobyBits | Online Shop - New & Used Parts do used parts and seem to have a good reputation or these guys Glenburgie Subaru, specialist subaru impreza dismantlers
