hi all, ive got a 1999 rb5 with a ppp and i was just wondering how much pressure should be in the cooling system as when its ticking over the top hose tends to be quite hard this is from cold and i was wondering if this is the start of a head gasket failure? ive ordered a new thermostat in the mean time as the bottom hose stays quite cold 4 a while. Could it be a air lock?
maybe try draining the system and refilling it!
could also be water pump.
what coolant are you using?

The coolant system is pressurerised (to 1.1bar). If there was too much pressure in the system you would be geting water coming out of the overflow by the inner wing.

hmm maybe it could be me being over cautious then? i hope so as i dont really want to be repalcing the headgaskets!! thanks for the replys.
