Default tappin?

hi i got a wrx sti on a k plate just got it drivein it 2 day and found engine seemed to be tappin after a drive for about 2 hours was ok when stared out checked oil seems ok but seems thin any ideas when u rev sometime u hear it some time u dont and when boastin its ok mmmm

depends on the 'tap' !
could be oil pick-up which aint usually a problem
..........or could be sticky valve or bottom end - not trying to be a doom-monger

Could also be the coil packs arcing, unlikely if it's something that's prominent enough to notice when you're driving though, but would be quite noticeable outside of the car to a trained ear.

Lazy Hydraulic lifter
Oil pump backing plate come loose
Oil thinned out/over-due for a change
Cam belt tensioner knocking

Process of elimination really.

done oil change 2 day seems to be tappin on about 3 to 4 tho revs when u rev past that the niose goes and on tick over its ok
