Default help/advice needed please

have a problem and was hoping someone could shed some light on it for me if possible. will try and keep it brief.

i have recently removed the inlet manifold to fit some insulating spacers and new turbo inlet pipe, aswell as bigger injectors and new fuel rails. while the inlet manifold was off i have also re-routed all breather pipes into a catch can and replaced a few other rubber hoses with silicone ones. also did the throttle body coolant bypass, all pretty straight forward stuff.
heres the problem - after finishing putting everything back together today i started the car and the radiator fans are running constantly and there is no temperature reading on the temp gauge on the dash. the car started fine and drives, although it obviously needs to be mapped again now.
i cannot think of what i would have done to cause the fans to run non-stop and there to be no temp reading.

any suggestions as to what i may have done?

thanks in advance. if it helps the car is a 2002 jdm sti.

The manifold isn't earthed properly ? INSULATED SPACERS nudge, nudge, are probably electrically insulated as well !

Or you have missed one of the electrical connectors off ?

A piece of decent gauge wire with a couple of ring terminals should sort it !

I would say that you have not got the coolant sensor connected properly. I cannot see it being the earthing of the inlet manifold as there are earth wires that connect to it as standard and the bolts will form a earth path through to the block. I have the insulating blocks and have not had to put extra earth wires on. I think if the ECU does not get a reading for the temperature, it automatically puts the fans on to prevent the engine overheating

Hopes this helps Steve

They can be a bit of a pain to get on fully so you may have put it on but it did not lock so as you were finishing or with the engine running it might have come off. Try to listen for a click as you push it on to ensure it is located and locked.
