Default Overboosting WRX!

Had a wee issue lately with the bugeye:
1st I was told it was the engine ?!
2nd it was the ICV - which I have clean and replaced the gasket
3rd replaced plugs and it RUNS and idles as it should!

but

now on the Defi boost gauge its hitting 1.8 - 2.0 bar of boost!! Its only mapped for 1.2 off Andy F, so help hitting these figures the turbos screaming to pull back. Does anyone have any ideas on what could cause this?

Was suggested that the map might be corrupted on the ECU, does this happen?

Would giving the boost solenoid and pipes a good clean with brake cleaner spray (what else? ) help cure the problem?

WRX bugeye unusual for boost spikes !! More a STi problem with restrictors ??

Has a pipe fallen off or something come loose somewhere / actuator ??

Should't be a problem with the map as it's on an EPROM

What sort of boost solenoid are you running ??

HI Shaun,

ITs only just started now, fitted the new plugs and gave the ICV a good clean out, will check the pipe again.
The boost solenoid is OE Spec C one which has been working great since it was mapped by Andy.

to get that much boost I reckon you have a pipe off between compressor outlet, actuator and the BCS.
