Default BOOST/WASTEGATE SOLENOID

Hi guys my question is when you put the car into test mode should you be able to hear/feel any thing from the boost solenoid as mine seems dead. It was ok until i cleaned it but now im only hitting about 6-7 psi on boost. Ive cheacked all the pipes and have found no splits or leaks

It should make a ticking noise if it's functional in test mode.....

if anything like the classic that is which i assume it is as the only diff is 2 port and 3 port.

Just to confirm i'm refering to the solenoid on the boost pack and not the wastegate/actuator on the turbo.

It should still Tick fella - So basically in test mode your fans come on and all that yeh? and you should also hear constant ticking from the boost solenoid the 2 and 3 port function the same mate.

So if it ain't ticking and rad fans are spinning on and off (indicated your in test mode) you will probably find the solenoid is dead.

Did mine the other day (05 wrx) and it's the first time I've used the green connectors, my boost solenoid didn't make any noise, but when I blew through one of the ports using a spare piece of washer tubing it definitely worked. Cycled open about every 5 seconds for around 2 seconds before closing again for 5 iyswim..?

Squirted some cleaner into the lower (inlet) port and blew through on the open cycle. Repeated a few times..

If your running only 0.6bar then it seems to be running on actuator pressure, so either the solenoid is fubar'd or you've reconnected the hose's incorrectly..!?

Test solenoid as above and recheck connections.
