Default FMIC question

My mate had recently bought a front mount intercooler for his UK 2000 Y reg and had asked me if I would give him a hand to fit it to his car.
Anyway, the question is whilst fitting the pipe on the throttle body side, that particular pipe we had a lot of trouble with
We managed to avoid the fuel pipes that cross over to the inlet manifold etc. but the pipe kept fouling on the washer bottle

Has any1 had a similar problem when fitting or is it just me?

Cheers Phil.

Decided to fit the pipe n get rid of the bottle anyway

But then wif tha weather you really need tha washers. As a temperary measure until something is sorted yes.

Could another bottle from another impreza fit as some maybe smaller than others????

Any info and pics on how to overcome this would help.

Couln't make the pipe fit without taking off the washer bottle

And it isn't practical to drive around without the use of your washers when the windscreen gets dirty n you can't see

HELP!!

on my early classic, I actually cut that particular pipe and used some samco hose to join the 2 parts back together again (think I used and angled pipe of samco maybe 135 degree or 170 degree) only a slight bend and then this allowed it to clear the washer bottle and allowed me to retain air con etc.

...Or source a different sized (smaller) and/or shaped bottle from another make/model of car and relocate it somewhere more suitable (but where?! lol). You then should be able to junk the replacement bottle's washer pump and reuse the Impreza one in its place (some modding may be required, etc...).
