Default bugeye wrx no power urgent help needed

hope someone can help me here i bought an 01 wrx with an engine fault and after a compression test discovered a damaged piston, no real surprise there but after the engine was taken out and rebuilt with a new piston, a new head and new steel gaskets and put back in the car i now find that the car has no real power although im making standard boost ok on the gauge the car feels no quicker than a non turbo, i got the p0546 code but could a front lambda cause this? i also tried unplugging the maf and the car stalled but started ok with the maf disconnected and drove just the same???? can anyone help or maybe someone has experienced this aswell?

Well, it sounds like the turbo is making the correct boost...... but not getting into your engine!

Check all pipework off your boost control system. Chances are, it's a big leak. Check out the main pipes you can't see - the main culprit being the IC feed pipe, where it mounts to the underside of the TMIC. Has it been put back on tightly? Are all the nuts done up tightly with the rubber gaskets in tact, etc...?

Don't worry.

It's just that on the early Classic WRX, with thw slanty IC, the it has a shaped rubber gasket that get sandwiched bewteen the flanges for an airtight seal, that's all (other IC's probably dont have them...).

yea it makes the standard 1 bar of boost ok but it feels like the power is not there but still revs , the turbo is fine with no leaks the cats are still there but they are not blocked its just very slugish and hesitant.

right got mine sorted today,i had error codes for both maf and knock sensor,so fitted new ones and still the same, plugs were sutted up to eyeballs so fitted new plugs and leads, still same, got a squirty bottle filled with water n washing up liquid and continually sprayed it on the intercooler, hoses, inlet manifold, and inlet side of turbo and kept revving it to produce boost,i discovered a minimal air leak from one boost hose that i would never have found without the spray, fitted a new clip and all was sorted, drives spot on again,so it just shows a minimal air leak sends the maf and mixture aywire.
