I know this is the wrong section but im just about to order my centre section to go with my ninja 2 just wdondering if i get the decat pipe what are the chances of it making my car run ****, people are saying it will be fine others say diffrent, please help

 

centre decat is fine but the downpipe you will need a remap if you ever do that

 

so i can do the centre decat and it will be a bit louder pop and bang a bit more etc and still run ok

 

little louder turbo will spool better as less restrictive

 

Ran mine for 6 years decatted and no remap 53k miles

runs fine no problems at all

 

PPP's dont like being decatted without some "minor" adjustments, like drilling out the restrictor plug, sounds like your car will be overboosting quite badly in this weather

Yeah that.

You may get away with it. You may not. 'Less restrictive for the turbo' = potential overboost. Key word potential. It might not happen but it is up to you to take the risk.

Still if it goes bang you'll know why.

good thread, i just ordered a ninja backbox and downpipe (with fast flow cat) my middle section is already decatted.

will i be ok without a remap or not, what do you think?

 

I have 03 wrx ppp and fitted decat up pipe and prodrive sportcat down pipe. Car runs fine no overboosting, although will probably be better with a remap.
