Default What exhaust you run for Track?

Hi,

This is my millionth post about exhaust.

For those of you who are within the sound limits of track days. What exhaust are you running?

If possible description and brand. i.e. 3" turbo back decat with afterburner R back box.

Trying to gauge what i can get away with. would hate to spend 400 on a zaust to find its too noisey. that would waste 400 for the zaust and prolly 2-300 for the track day!

Thx
Chris

Headers have an influence on noise btw..

3bolt flange tubular headers
H&S 3inch downpipe
Revolution 3inch centre and backbox
has recorded from memory between 95db and 97db at Goodwood..
Was 97db at BrandsHatch.

the 3" magnex system is a lovely sounding exhaust. Quite but still has the proud noise of the flat four

that sounds good. You rock jolly green monster.!

I would assume that no matter the downpipe/center section that wont affect the noise that much. more so the back box??

I'd go with the RCM 3" open neck downpipe and 3" Revolution exhaust.

This is the setup I'm intending (along with Teg Sport GT spec headers) and I believe this comes under most restrictions..

GT Spec headers, Milltek 3 inch decat system - measures 93DB at 5500.

TDO's love it on the static tests.

On boost is a different story.

Loud exhausts arent necessarily the most powerful

hmm ok. so from the looks i can 3" decat without a problem.

But the choise of Back box is where the noise difference is really going to come from..?
