Default Whats next for more power??

Hi all, i have an sti v3, standard apart from HKS panel filter, afterburner straight through centre and prodrive back box, It goes pretty well much better than my old 95 wrx but id like a bit more power and torque, nothing massive maybe 330 to 350bhp.

What the best way to go without breaking the bank?

can this be done without the need for a new turbo?

Sure this has been answered before but any advise appreciated

Cheers
Adam

Need to add:-

- a decat bellmouth downpipe
- FMIC + Cone IK (get a 'Hybrid GT Spec' FMIC - harvey can help here)
- 550cc injectors
- Walbro 255l/h fuel pump (for safety)
- cheap 2nd hand Apexi Power FC ECU

Then get the whole lot mapped by Jolly Green Monster for, hopefully, 340bhp on the OEM VF-23 turbo. I think it would be the turbo that'll be the limiting factor amongst this set-up, on the way to 340bhp.

A large chunk of the cash needed is taken up by the FMIC. If you do away with that (you wouldn't need a cone IK, or the 550s either - the OEM 440s will suffice) then you still should see about 300-310bhp on the OEM TMIC.

You're borderline with 330, I'd say. What I'd do is leave the FMIC, but get the 550s. Then get it mapped and see how you like the car - that'll prob be enough for you to be happy, lol.

If you MUST know what the bhp is, you can get a RR done and tweaks made etc., to try to achieve your goal (within the limits of the TMIC). If you fall short and are not sold, then get the FMIC/cone IK fitted and a RR/on-road remap...

In that case save yourself some serious coin and omit the FMIC, 550s and cone IK from the shopping list ... but get the other stuff fitted and mapped .

300-310bhp is yours to be had but, more tangibly, it'll be the the way the car responds on the road, that'll put a whacking great big Cheshire cat smile all over your head!

Premium in Japan for the early cars was about 98

The fuel you have in your car at the moment of mapping will be what it is mapped for.
You could get it mapped for 95 if you wanted to.
