Default any ideas?

ive a 94 wrx,de-cat,z4 ecu,pannel filter!

ive had boost problem for a few weeks now(not had chance to take it anywere yet)it feels like it is over boosting,ive had fuel cut a couple of times,then it would run fine for a few days today it fuel cut again,then when i got it to booost again,it sounded like i had pops and bangs ive cleened my boost solinoide with carb cleaner last week,and it ran fine!

please help,its doing my head in

Yep sounds like overboost........it will be due to the decat and cold weather combination more than likely.

The extremely cold weather could simply be causing it. Especially as you haven't had the decat mapped for (despite the Z4 upgrade).

right........

so in theory,if it gets above 10 degrees it should run fine again?


you must know more than me about scoobs,but i still thing there is an issue with it somewere!

is there any way of sorting it?

What's the temp where you are?
I've got the same as you except i've an induction kit and haven't had this problem.

great minds think alike eh!

another thing it has done is it sumtimes revs higher,or hunts,between 1 and 2 thousand revs?

i had fault code 43 when it first fuel cut,but iam getting no fault code now,no engine check light comes on???

43 is the accelerator pedal switch there was another person recently who had the same code come up ,i'll do a quick search to see if they got an answer.

i think code 43 is an erroneous code ,reset the ecu to get rid of the code.
You can bypass the fuel cut BUT it is a protective system.

Brown thing above boost solenoid is the pressure exchange solenoid valve

I would guess you may need to replace it.

The pressure solenoid (brown thing) can sample atmospheric air (via the cylinder) when told to do so by the ECU via MAP sensor so it it's playing up that may cause a problem.

BUT reset the ecu and see how it goes.
