I have the backbox and in my opinion its one of the best sounding exhausts, Its neighbour friendly on low revs and loud on full chat. If you do get one, pull out the reducer in the bore where it joins the centre pipe for better flow.

Has the backbox got a 2.5" or 3" connection to the mid section?

Just wondering if I can 'mate' it to a 3" center section.

thanks

Agree

I have the Blitz Nur Spec S (2.5" bore with 4.5" tail) backbox which has amazing build quality & sound amazing when giving some welly & quiet & burbly otherwise. But have to swop it for my 3" full h&s decat system soon

Agree. I actually think the welds & material used on the Blitz is better than the Genome which is overpriced IMO.

I broke the 4 spot welds holding it in, then used a slide hammer to extract it.

I agree with some comments above,

GeNome take note;

Good gauges,

but step well away from the exhausts as it ain't a patch on the competition in fact if judging by the above comments/video ur taking the pi$$. Not much different to the standard STi effort if silencing is looked at; and I gave my STi box away for free!!!.
IMO.

IMO.
ever heard one? or seen one?

that's my car in the vid powerwrx has posted and it's an awful quality sound reproduction and a lot of owners still think it sounds great

i would be the first to agree it's silly dear new, but you can get them for sensible money 2nd hand. my complaint with the box is they use non stainless hangers, real letdown for the money.

out of the 10 odd b/boxes i've had it's the best noise and quality bar none. i think the afterburner is a better 'burble', but that's too damn loud all the time.

very much horses for courses with exhausts. some people rave over a Firestorm but i though it was the wankest, most poorly put together, crappiest raspy thing i'd ever owned

all IMHO of course

that one is even a bit more rare than the genome little bit louder, and titanium. which is cool

still the same scabby hangers though

tell a lie, i think that one is stainless like the genome. IIRC the titanium one isn't a slash cut.

still pretty cool though

Thanks I like to be different!!

I know its not a titanium one, but thought it was genome, ahh well but I have found it listed on the following web site
STI - PARTS NAVI / IMPREZA
part no ST443004S0.

I managed to pull out the restrictor out from inside the flange this afternoon
Those spot welds sure are neat (thanks Dee) think I would of totally butcherd it before spotting them!
I will see how noisey it is with the rest of the system, if I aint happy with It I will get rid of it and get something more to my likeing

Its obvious when you look in the inside the flange. It reduces the bore fron 2.5" to around 2".
