Where is my rear fog light switch?
My mechanic put the car in for an MOT and asked me where the switch is! I've never actually thought about it and can't find it anywhere. Now does it run off the same switch as the fronts, and the fog lights themselves in the rear clusters? Its an import but surely Japanese motors have rear fogs!?

they normally have one screwed 2 bumper as import. i removed my drivers side reverside light and fitted mine there. i had a switch in car, removed it and found colour of wires, checked for power and then found the coloured wires in rear light loom. found wire, tapped in, and job done. works great. put red l.e.d bulb in as fog light. will pass.

As I suspected... The drivers side reverse light was out since I had the car so I had it fixed. Somebody had pissed around with the wiring so maybe thats why. The ones that screw to the bumper... where can I get one of these? Do they look naff? Im guessing you can wire from the same switch for the fronts?

u cant wire from the front fogs, need independent switch and it needs to illuminate when on. the ones that fix 2 bumper r very naff. i bet u have the electrics (wiring plug) behind dash near the front fog switch. all u need is a switch, led bulb. bulb holder, and patience 2 find correct wires.
any local auto electrician will wire one up in 15 mins tops.
i done my mates in 20mins. straight forward job.

You can stick a bright red bulb in one of the reverse lights and wire up a seperate switch and it will pass as a fog, if you don't want an ugly thing hanging on the back of yor bumper.
Edit: Whoops, MJE said the same thing

I live in Queensland, Australia and it isn't compulsory to have fog lights although my Bugeye has front and rear factory fogs.
I discovered this when I bought my wife a Nissan X-Trail and discovered that it had front fogs but no rear fogs. I drove back to the dealer to protest that he'd sold me an illegal car.......only to find out that they aren't required here.
Having said that, most people have front fogs which can be switched on without having normal lights on, then they drive around in blazing sunshine with the fogs on......

Still doesn't solve the mystery of the switch though.... Late classic is a rectangular switch RHS of the dash, normally hidden by the steering wheel, next to the front fogs and/or driving lights switch.

Maybe the pissing about was the foglight fix? Now you've unfixed it whilst trying to sort out the reversing light?
