Whilst you've got a whole week ahead of you, I'd spray each of the turbo/downpipe studs with a liberal coating of WD40 every night from now until you do it!

I'd also buy a full set of brand new studs... just in case any - or all! - break.

Only £5.75 for a full set of 5 from RCM! : Roger Clark Motorsport - RCM Product Detail

Also, you can get the flanged nuts - a full set of 5 pattern ones from RCM for £8.65: Roger Clark Motorsport - RCM Product Detail

It'll stop you pulling your hair out, when you get stuck without any replacements . If you have any, or indeed all, left over, then you can just off-load them on here or eBay. Sorted.

I've never changed a Scoob turbo... but I'm sure they'll sson be a flood of recommended tips from members who have (of which there are many....)

Its not hard if all the studs come off the downpipe.
You'll need a long and short 1/2" extension bars, a 1/2" universal joint and a 6 sided 14mm 1/2" socket for the bottom stud. Thats the hardest to get at. The others are accessable from the top with the intercooler off.

Once the downpipe is off, its all plain sailing. Just remember to use all the pipework that comes with the VF.

If all the nuts come off ok, your looking at a couple of hours work tops.
Remember to drive off boost till map day!!

Gaskets !

P.S. If you have the gear to do it, the stud in the up-pipe at the rear of the turbo flange can be shortened slightly, this may help !

Oh yeah, dunx's reminded me - obviously lubricate the up-pipe to turbo bolts too!

New studs thats a good idea and as said saves me running around like a headless chicken trying to find replacements. Im booked in with the monster for mapping on the 12feb so it has to be done by then. My main problem at the moment is trying to source a ramp to work on because i dont fancy doing it on my drive

OE oil connection pipe is solid and have to be bent out of the way, and back again, if MY00 is not different from my98. You might want to use a hot air gun to heat the pipe a bit to minimize the risk of it cracking. New gaskets for the banjo bolts for water and oil pipes. As Simon said just yesterday, use the banjo bolt from the righ turbo for oil connection (differently sized holes).
The air pipe on the compressor side might need to be bent, on my my98 if interfered with the rocket cover breather pipe.
