Aerocatch Bonnet Pin Install
Hi All,
Today I fitted some Aerocatch Bonnet pins to my Carbon bonnet as it flapped like a bird at speed.
I have to say these are quality items and well worth the £35 i paid.
If anyone is interested I will do a little write up on how to fit them.
Now I've found the bo***cks to chop up my carbon bonnet I might have ago at Frayz's roof vent install

i just bought the standard ones, if your bothered about security go for the locking ones, there is no way the standard ones will pop up while your driving, my car is kept off the road that why i went for standards.
They were supprisingly easy to fit and the best bit is that the pins actually fit in the bumpstops and are very secure. the cutting of the bonnet was easy on a carbon fibre one with a dremmel, the alloy bonnet shouldnt bee too much trouble though.

Just a bit, I didn't really have a choice though, when I was driving the bonnet actually came out of the 1st lock on the latch so it was a close call, dremmels are pretty accurate though. the hard bit is smoothing the round bits and cutting the lower bonnet skin so you can put the little bolts on, looks a bit rough underneath but i have ordered some edging to make it look ok again.

it is ever so slightly (0.25 degrees) but it had to be the way the pins lined up underneath, it was either that or start cutting through the slam pannel instead of using the bonnet stops.
The main thing is that the bumper stays put when your on the road

Hi Mark,
yes they will fit, the pins locate inside the 2 rubber stops above your lights. You will need to cut a bit off the thread on the pin but thats fine. put a bit of grease or paint on top of the pin the close the bonnet on them, open it again and drill where the grease has transfered underneath the bonnet.

ebay of all places,
they have a few UK sellers on there so you won have to wait weeks for them to arrive, the reason i chose them is
1> they are flush fitting
2> you actually bolt them onto the bonnet instead of using self tapping screws.
