NEED HELP WITH WRX IMPORT
hi peeps new to scooby net and wondered if any of u kind peeps can help,i have just bought a 95 wrx wagon with 67000 miles, the guy i got it of only used it now and then, the engine runs sweet but sometimes when warm it wont start it just spins over,i have fount sometimes when i wiggle the crankshaft sensor wire it starts, could the crankshaft sensor cause starting problems,i was gonna reset the ecu as the petrol that was in the car had been in it since last august,so until i run it down i was driving it easy until it was nearly empty and have been running it on vpower or super unleaded, could resetting ecu cure the above as sometimes it ticks over at 300 rpms and wondered having that stale petrol in it might have messed up ecu readings, any help or info welcome and please bear with the novel i have just wrote.

Fill her up with fresh V-Power and reset the ECU, see what youve got after that

Nope, they may be taped up if they have never been used,if you can't find them then disconnect the battery for ½ hour ,after filling up with V power or Tescos 99 Ron (i've run my early import on 97 SUL with no problems)
I would get the sensor sorted though as it does normally cause starting problems and if you wiggling the wires sorts the problem out i would be confident in saying that's your problem

if your wiggling the crank position sensor to get it to work then yes, this is a problem. the car will not fire without this. some people use this fact to turn the engine over after oil changes to prime the pump. get the sensor replaced, clean the connector and i think your problems will go away.

second hand sensors will save you a bit of doh, but dont always work, even if they have been tested. I was getting occasional starting probs from warm, used 2 second hand sensors and still had it. Neil @ slowboy told me to get a new one... did so and not had the problem since. Save your time and bother mate, get a new one.
