No mate.

When you reconnect the battery, you hear the PFC performing it's boot up procedure, then it's back to normal. It's a non-learning ECU, so nothing is altered.

the fmic will require a remap / map check though

but as said they do not lose the maps unless re-initialised.

Yes good point about the remap for the FMIC (overlooked that). OP keep off-boost until you get it done (by Simon, lol).

Mapper will have all the appropriate connection leads, wideband, det cans, laptop, etc. - you just supply the ECU.

You can reset the map to the factory base map in the "Etc." menu - I'm not sure how the car would run (if at all) though? Mind, it's bound to be safer than the one stored on it!

But that said, why would you want to fit it before the map, when you don't have to? Don't fit it, simple as - only'll take the mapper 10mins to swap over ECUs, then it's in his safe hands from then on...

i'll let the mapper swith ECUs at mapping - i would not touch it at all - i like my engine

i only wanted to ask if he needs any special cable or he can use normal ISO/OBD cable (i think tactrix or smthg like this)
