Ok cheers for that i guess i asked for it. Im not complaining just i got better from my P1 before and i would have expected the WRX to be a little better. That and the fact my emmisions light keeps coming on. I will endevour to try harder and reduce my MPG still further....
Once got 140 miles on a full tank... anyone better that, and it wasn't on the track!

Oh dear, I was about to chuck in the Integra for a new WRX, but 200 miles for 40 quid is very pricey. I was doing 250 for 35 quid in the integra. Im still keen cos I have a very short commute, but it still seems mad.

That's weird !
The fuel light on my 01 WRX popped on this afternoon at 252.8 miles ... and about 100 of those were the second half of Mellow Yellow's Lakes run last Sunday
Have you checked the fuel tank for leaks ?

I have manage 260 miles without the fuel light coming on, although that was motorway driving and watching the speed. The car must have been wondering what was going on as the turbo wasn't used for most of the journey. (Very dull drive, but at least the police cars ignored me and went after the BMWs in the outside lane)
It really does depend on the driving style, journey length and numerous other factors.

Well I have a MY01 wagon aswell and I've NEVER had less than 25.25 mpg, AND I don't exactly hang around. I do however always make sure that when I'm in traffic I don't boot it needlessly, and drive in high gears, again when there's people in front that you can't do anything about! I normally average 26 - 28...but I do have fun with it when I can. This translates to 270 miles or so on 47 of the 60 litre tank.
Cheers,
Rich

Stu,Thats WIERD One of my best mpg was on Mellows Lakes run last year where I got 270/tank,I had a similar experience where I did a late night trek through the length of Wales on A&B's only, believe me it was quick............again 275/tank
Thats the good news over with,A few tanks during December when I did'nt do any journeys exceeding say 30 miles was averaged a ridiculous 16mpg
It seems like they like to be driven relatively hard(4000 - 5500Rpm)anything above and definately below will result in it behaving like a thirsty alcoholic !
Many people say that all fuels are the same..........Hmmmm maybe,BUT why do I consistantly get my best figures when using Texaco SUL and my lowest using Optimax.............even when doing identical journeys
Ahhhh the mind boggles !

Hi all, as my first post I don´t want to say too much, but living here in germany, and with my trip to work and back in both the city and along the autobahn, I have noticed that a drop of even as low as 2 psi in my tires changes the fuel consumption - not much, but at 0.98€/L it does make a difference each week. Also new treds have a slightly larger diam to old ones, so perhaps with the calibration set up in the computer onboard, as you wear the tires, the apparent distance you travel is the same but the fuel consumption goes up?! Thats my 2 cents anyhow...

I've found that too ... well, that's what I tell the folks at work now that I've had the "boy racer" exhaust fitted

Hmm, now you mention it, that was a tank of Texaco SUL whereas it normally ony drinks Optimax.

But serioulsy i seem to get better MPG on Optimax than i do on Texaco. Stange but true.
Think ill take it in to the dealer and get it checked.
