Just a quick question on re-mapping a currently PPP'd car.

Do I still need to pay for the licence to re-map the ECU even though the car has already been re-mapped as part of the PPP conversion .

I have done a search but couldn't find any info. Thanks for the advice in advance.

Yes, unfortunately you do.
Even though the Prodrive remap is effectively an ECUTEK remap, Prodrive apparently specifically state that the license remains locked, thus it costs you a once off £150 still.

You have to pay for the full Ecutek remap at around £600. I'm about to get my PPP car decatted and Ecutek'd.

Sell that ecu and buy a std one for much cheaper

a few people have said to sell a ppp ecu and buy a standerd one but why bother risking selling a perfectly good ecu for a possible untested/faulty one?

but just out of intrest how much are they worth compaired to standered ecus?

Simple but true. You are going to map the thing anyway so may as well start with a clear one and get a bit of the cash back for the PPP one.

Mapper will be able to set the ECU up with the car for immobilisers etc.
