as for the engine running ok, it does for about 20 seconds then slowly gets worse till it stalls, stupid question but would the pipes being on the wrong way do that?

see http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/pdf/13109.pdf for installation.
the gauge goes in the hole on the face (in yellow on .pdf).

Don't adjust the bolt with the vacuum pipe connected!

You need to set the fuel pressure you want to run with it disconnected(atmospheric pressure).

If the pipes are connected the wrong way, I think you won't actually be making any fuel pressure, the reg is to hold fuel thus pressure in the rails. Probably going straight through the rails and back to the tank.

Thats a good guide. Appropriate to Fuelab regulators too.

hey BUTTY you've replied here too, ive just seen your other reply on the other fpr thread, and it turns out the picture i followed was a dry mock up of what his engine will look like when its done, and i followed it, anyway i looked at your very good link and it turns out i have piped it up the wrong way round, so like MICKYWRX says i will just be pumping fuel straight back to the tank, creating no pressure at all.
WELL DONE EVERYONE ANOTHER PROBLEM SORTED.
