Default z4 + 6k ecu

iv got a 93 wrx import and thinking about gettin a z4 ecu for a little power boost...iv seen em sell on ebay but wondered what model they come from? are they safe for 97ron fuel when its not gettin thrashed?
also what power would i get from using a z4 ecu in my classic?
thanks,matt

they are from a late 94-96 wrx rated at 260ps.
I've run mine on 97+ and it's fine.
I'm getting about 260bhp (i've a decat and IK) if you do get one don't pay more than £50-70.
If you see a 6K for sale that would be better but once agian don't pay too much

Nope 260ps (256bhp)

1PS = 0.986bhp

6K is from the STI v2

tbh i have no idea someone has got one for sale on here for £100 BUT it all depends what you want from the car as these ecus aren't remappable either without a daughter board being put in whereas if you want more power,bigger injectors,change of turbo,fmic etc save your money and buy a remappable ecu to start with.

But wouldn't the 6K be mapped for the larger injectors of the STI etc. ?

I have a z4 you can have, 60 delivered, i ran it on my 93 wrx with an mbc at 1 bar and it made 271bhp on a cold day. That was decatted with blitz induction and tubular headers. Pm me if you want it.
