Question 6k ecu question

iv been offered a 6 k ecu for my car was wondering how much it would cost to have this mapped to my car from scoobyclinc could some one explain how the whole mapping thing works cheers,steven

Can't be mapped without use of an extra chip or daughterboard.
It is however the best ecu for early wrxs as standard.

This is out of a my96 STI V2 a very good ecu same map as PPP.

i went from a 2c ecu to a 6k on my 94 wrx, i cant fault it much better than the z4 i tried before it

but can i just do a straight swap because i will not no if its running correct air fuel mixture ect ect ect

STI2 ran the same size injectors and turbo,rev limit is the same and the change in power/boost is very small so i doubt any harm will be done.

what power diffrence could i expect from changing to the 6k oh and also i spoke to someone about cat requirments and he said you dont require one on imports up to 95 but i said you do but he said speak to you i belive you require one on all cars fron 1st aug 92 ,can you shed any light on this for me cheers steven

Sorry to hijack the thread,but will a Z4 or 6K ecu go straight onto a 1994 wagon with TD04 turbo.Would there be any issues?

6k and z4 ecu is mapped to run a td05 so you i would think you need to replace the turbo (you can pick them up 2nd hand for about £100ish)
As for physically fitting then yes it will go straight in.

Batman
6k is rated at about 275ps i think.
Only UK cars need cats from Aug 1992,early imports seem to get away with decatting (mine has for about 4 years)
