how can you tell an upraded fuel pump from standard??
well when my red scoob blew up i took all the good bits off inc ecu as i was swapping the decat onto a car i bought that didnt run, anyway got the car up and running and mot'd. when i had her on the rollers i was told she was running lean, but few months on the penny has dropped, so i swapped the fuel pumps over and the one i now have fitted seems to be shorter and chunkier than the standard one???? i'm begining to think the ecu was mapped for an uprated pump when i was running a standard one for months
if this is the case will it have caused any engine damage???
dont know why i didnt think of this when i was swapping the decat, ecu and turbo over into the other car

the pump i removed had clips at the end of all the wires so was simply plug and play, the pump ive fitted wasn't plug and play which most after market pumps seem to be like. (i'm talking about wiring inside the tank) was no markings on the pump what so ever, anyway its in now and staying in as thats what it was running with the ecu in my other car, better safe than sorry

I think you should be fine in the engine damage side of things. Did you have uprated injectors to though? If so did you swap these?
Just a note: Every car is different, therefore when possible you should have it mapped again to get that bit more out of it Adzer.
PS - Did you get those heads sorted in the end mate?

I think the issue is you are running an ecu you are not sure for what mods it was mapped and it was mapped on another car..
refit a standard ecu before you blow another engine?

its a z4 ecu i've now got fitted, and car now has same spec/parts that was fitted to the other car prior to big end knock.
STI-BALY.....i got another set of heads with sti4 cams, so out of the two sets i now have sti v4 heads, and sold all the rest of parts onto a guy locally who has a cracked casing. his heads where from a v4 sti type r and had the sames cams that i posted in my previous thread..............so looks like they were sti v4 cams afterall

what mods?
you are now at the same sapec as the other car that went bang?
it could have been just one of those things as they do sometimes let go for no apparent reason or it could be due to the mods
