Default Mass Air Flow Sensor Circuit High Input, cel at 7200rpm

hi all, wondering if any one can shed some light, this afternoon i had a cel come on,checked the psi3 and it kicked up a "Mass Air Flow Sensor Circuit High Input " fault po103. this came on at 7200 rpm so pulled over reset the the code light went out, drive a few mile to allow the ecu to learn, tried it again on on the second time hitting 7200rpm came bk on, done the reset again drove it under 7k after 25-30 miles no cel .

the car is a 2003 sti mapped to 1.55 bar on a td05 20g standard internals running K&N short Ram enclosed impreza induction kit ,when paul@zens mapped the car he did say the maf was running at 99% at 7k. would this recent cold blast cause this cel to come on or some other fault cheers

Don't think a 3 bar map sensor is going to help his maf hitting it's max voltage. It's probably the cold (more dense air). As Simon asked, what grams airflow and what maf voltage are you seeing?

The fix will likely take the form of a trip to wellingborough and a cup of tea.

292.74 g/s is usually 4.69v on stock maf scalings I've seen. You should be able to extend the maf scale out easily. Quick job for Paul or Simon I'm sure.

a bigger maf housing will extend it and still keep the readings real. MAF scaling will work though but will skew the figures that you get out of PSI3 but it depends on what you look at in there as to whether that is an issue.
