WRX fuel pump upgrade - STI?
One of those random buys, I was offered a STI fuel pump as I'm about to get my WRX remapped and was buying a prodrive exhaust second hand, this guy had loads of other stuff lying around.
Does anyone know if this is better than the standard one in my WRX? It's an 02 bugeye, and the part number of the new one is A42-646055, labelled Unisia jecs. 12V 2226A also marked on it.

I believe they are the same type of pump. I do remember seeing a thread here on how the PPP package from Prodrive includes a debadged Walbro pump. So if you want to upgrade, get a Walbro, they are pretty cheap too, about $100 on Ebay.

Thanks for that - so the UK newage WRX and STI fuel pumps are the same?
I wasn't planning to upgrade, just got offered one at a fairly cheap price and thought why not.

Even if they're not the same the STI one is upgraded for the PPP so it is not worth the hassle (minor) of putting it in as Prodrive don't think it would cope with 300bhp.
