Unhappy Ticking V9 STi

Hey everyone,

Any ideas what this sound could be: YouTube - JDM V9 STi Ticking

Motor: EJ207DW7CR
Compression: ~145-150
Leakdown: Good, 5% on one cylinder
Oil: No metal particles
Injectors: Unplugged each drivers side injector (where the noise is). Slightly quiets down.

AVCS is NOT working. Looking for a Version 9 Spec-C ECU.

Thanks for suggestions.

You need to get it plugged into a diagnostics machine to reactive the avcs, the rest just sounds like noisy injectors, plus what fuel are you running and is the car mapped for uk fuel? (you wont need a spec c ecu either, no difference in how your car runs).

Thanks everyone. I've been told the Neutral Position switch on the Version 9 is different, affecting the AVCS. I have the V9 ECU, but cant use it because of Immobilizer. So I built a map for the V9 to flash on the V7 ECU.

I want a V9 Spec C ECU because there is no immobilizer on it.

I'm in Canada, so it's running our 94 octane. No knock, 16 IAM, happily driving car.

The spark plugs are tight, have been removed for leak down and compression tests. They are a little white. Should I replace them as a precaution?

Thanks a lot!
