Default Whats the most i can get out of a VF35 ON UKMY00

Have just got my hands on a Vf35 to fit on ukmy00, i dont want to go forged and was just wondering what sort of power i can extract from my car. Spoken to JGM and he says its good for just over 300bhp, but really was hoping for 330 ish. Does anyone know what i can do to achieve this kinda figure on this turbo? Regards joe

I've just finished fitting all the bits to my MY00

VF35
Apexi Power FC
using std 440's
255l fuel pump
HKS 3 layer panel filter
Open neck downpipe and magnex system
3 port Apexi boost solenoid
PFR7b's

It's being mapped by JGM next Monday and I was hoping for more than 300bhp.. only because my RA made 301bhp on Zen's rollers and that's had hardly anything done apart from a generic scoobyecu, exhaust and k&N panel and it's only running 1bar and quite rich/safe on the AFR!

At the end of the day though as long as it goes like **** off a shovel I'll be happy, it'll probably never go on the rollers.. I'd imagine the old girl is in for a shock though as she's been running completely std 215bhp for 8 years..

My spec is
Vf35
Open neck downpipe
2.5 Magnex system - no cats
Panel filter
Walbro 225l fuel pump
Ecutek softwear and psi3

Everything else is standard. JGM says intercooler and injectors will be fine.

Just a quick question to those running circa 300 bhp how does it compare to other cars on the road? my last car was a 310bhp seat ibiza and that was barmy, problem was it was fwd hence why i got rid a opted for an impreza

Im another with a MY00 with a VF35 with 300bhp+, I went for a Apexi PFC ecu over a Ecutek as you get the Commander which displays useful engine info and should you ever want to go back to standard a 2nd hand Apexi is still worth £300.

Ive never been overtaken (when having a little blast) by another car since my remap 18 months ago, its quicker than a Boxster, Cayman and BMW 650i, but I could not get past a fire breathing Evo6 and rather surprisingly a VW G60 Corrado (it was bizarrely quick!!).

440 injectors are fine, as is the standard top mount intercooler.

Hows your gearbox? Mine went pop just 2 weeks after remap.

Some pretty good results there guys its looking rather promising.
PETEDOTUK - There good figures that you've got there mate mapped by andy f eh.
Gearbox seems ok but i guess ill only know once its been mapped and driven.
By the looks of it 330 is quite achievable with my spec.

What are the benefits of fitting a 3 port boost solenoid?

Regarding 'why' on the power FC..

Exactly as movi-star said, I love them for the data display and it's still worth the same if/when you break the car back to STD to sell.

a lot cheaper than buying a avcr & psi3 as well!!!
petedotuk that is good figures on vf35 but your base is an sti and new age!!!!

When I had mine remapped at Zen he said a 3-port BS is not needed at this level of modification.

this is true but while mapping anyway the 3 port has better control and is a lot less prone to clogging of breathers (2 ports req cleaning a lot!!)

When I went to Zen recently Paul said virtually the same. The 3 port will control the boost alot better than a 2 port and stop any major spikes. Little example, from my first Apexi PFC re - map my car was mapped at 1.3bar with the VF35, Walbro fuel pump and standard 380 injectors. On the motorway and planted my foot in 5th gear. Boost hit 1.54 bar and then all of a sudden, boost cut!! Not a nice feeling at all.

Iv now had fitted a Turbo Smart 3 port, Hybrid FMIC and 440`s and the boost is currently mapped to 1.4bar. Planted my foot in 5th gear and the boost held nicely and only peaked at 1.42bar. Approximatly running around 320bhp with the injectors running at 80%, so still room for more

Joe2000, IMO a 300+bhp car is enough for UK roads. There will be few cars out there that will cause you problems ......I havnt had any yet
