Default Central Locking Issue On Start Up

Evening all, I have a UK MY99 fitted with the standard CAT 1 alarm which locks the doors when you turn the key.

A strange thing is happening when I start up first thing in the morning. On some occasions when I crank the engine into life the central locking locks then unlocks then locks again. The car starts with no problem, the battery was new last year. There is no pattern to when it happens, it can happen when frosty or when its mild. The car is always garaged so it is never frozen.

Any ideas whats going on?

It should lock the doors when you turn the key, safty as people are known for taking you out, when at lights and stuff.

Hi scooby1doo1, yes I know it is supposed to lock you in as you say. However, it always locks when I start up and unlocks when I switch off (the normal procedure). What I am trying to explain, probably not very well!, is that as I turn the key the locks are opening and closing until it fires up. As I say it is only occasionally and the car is turning over fine.
