1 of these was fitted to my other scoob, was in a 30mph doing 30mph. 3 months later, farm yard turned up.
In the end i was fined £200 all together, preventing the course of justice . No points, yes they work but if found using 1

some auto switch off or you just fit a subtle switch u flick off when pulled, Its to open my garage door !
All they do is put a error fault code up on the camera, You can see if there working with a video camera.

There's a problem in itself, if plod are trying to get a fix on you but all they get is an error signal, they'll pull you anyway, especially given the type of car you're driving.

Then they'll see the gadget on the dash and put two and two together.

they do them as a single switch so can easily be hidden, and cant prove you was speeding and at worst case fine you for gadget

if it does actually operate a garage door, which is its intended use, surely its not illegal?

perverting the course of justice = criminal record and possibly a custodial sentence.

Even the dumbest of plod is going to work out that the car that whizzed by when the laser gadget went DOH is going to be using a jammer.

If you want to be really clever then invest in some disco ball style mirror tiles and stick them at random on the front of the car, that will diffuse the laser nicely!

The device is legal. The purpose you put it to is the question. If it is to automatically open your garage door by emitting a signal when it detects it is coming up to your driveway, then it's legal. If it also happens that the same return signal is also a jamming pulse for laser speed traps then so be it.

If of course, you fitted one with the intention of it being a laser jammer and had no garage door opening purposes in mind, then it would be illegal.

Would you really have to goto the extremes of having automatic doors on your garage?

Surely the laser could operate something less costly. Like a light on the front of your house that comes on when you drive upto it? Nice and cheap but would that be legal?
