From what i'm lead to believe, Andy usually works at his garage as a one man show. So he'll probably be either out mapping or busy working on his own car, hence not always picking up the phone.
Like you said, he will answer your e-mails eventually (he must gets loads lol). Just keep them straight to the point and he'll answer any questions you have .

And yes you can get two settings with Ecutek or more depending on what system your using.

I'm sure i read s/where that he'd been away on holiday mate plus he's been racing so all i can suggest is send a new e-mail and he will get back to you.
Sorry i can't help any more.

as dan2 says m8,
Ecutek gives you a high and low boost setting, never used low myself

simtech has more options and you can get different fuel maps, v-power, methanol, etc.. But it is very pricey.
all depends on your requirements

I booked my car in by email after sending a few discussing it etc. Probably took a few days in total, and all it involved was checking my emails every night which I do anyway. Was totally hastle free.

Then I showed up at his garage on time on the day - as did he. The car was mapped in the time he said it would be, the results of the mapping were excellent, and so was the way he answered every daft question I had. I then spent the whole journey home smiling because of the way my car was improved.

Just ask questions in detail by email. They surely don't have to be that long.

I first emailed Andy about 3 weeks ago, he replied after about 2 days.
I emailed him again to ask a few questions which he replied to very quickly.
I booked my car in for 25th november which was his first available date.
I also couldnt get him on the phone, but he did reply to my emails.
He's a busy man which means he must be good.
I cant wait to get my map done.

P.S.
Dont mean to hijack but how do you change from one setting to the other with ecutek?

Not 100% sure, but I think he can set it to a few different switches. One I've heard of was the rear screen demister. And it still works the demister.

to change the boost settings on map you have to double tap the rear window heater button with throttle fully depressed

power wise on mine when mods where same as yours i got 357bhp and torque was 320+ mates got 350 and 319 torque but depends on car so just expect 330+ anything more is a bonus.

you wont be disappointed and he's a top bloke he's the only other person other than myself i trust with my car. and if your off up to him enjoy the roads and the public loo you'l get what i mean when you've been

pretty sure its his wife that does his emails. he will always get bak to you. i know its a pain but patience.
he was away abroad the racing so had a back log of e-mails. mine is booked in for 21ST november but that was a couple weeks agos so could be mid december into nxt year now.

ECUTEK map has both low boost and high boost function and is switchable using ur rear de-mister. fully depress the accelerator and double tap the de-mister to switch maps. very simple but also discreet i.e. when you put it into a garage etc. no 17yr olds trying to boot the **** out it when its on low boost.

I find it strange how some of the most well respected people in the Subaru tuning seem to be able to pick up the phone and reply to emails whenever they feel like it.

I personaly tried to get hold of Andy on the phone for over a week.

Bob Rawle just never got back to me after his assistant Branco promised me he would.

Simon at Jolly Green monster can be a nightmare to get hold of and cancelled my mapping session by text message.

Peronally i don't accept that " He's very busy" as an excuse !!!

To be honest wouldnt bother me much so long as my car were sorted in the end-yer theyre providing a service but these are busy ppl who to an extent dont need to fit in around you as they`re busy enough, though im sure alot of business is possibly lost as a result.

To be honest with any of the top mappers (an theres a few not mentioned)i`d be prepared to put up with the aggro in getting in touch/whatever just to have my car mapped by someone i could trust-that to me totally outweighs anything else.

Do all ECUtek remaps have the "demister" settings?? Also, when do you press the accelerator and double press the button? Like ignition position 1 etc?? How can you tell its changed?

Cheers
