Default power steering,possible fault.

drove car this morning and there was a slight strange feeling to the steering wheel as if the power steering had a slight rub to it,very minor but it felt a bit dry if u know what i mean.kinda like a slight rubbing noise coming from steering wheel?any help would be great,cheers!is it anything to worry about or am i just being a bit paranoid?would cold weather do this?it was when car was cold!

power steering faults are quite common on the imprezza, just check the fluid in the ps reservoir. It may look full, but add some anyway as it seems to go through a stage of just taking fluid!

Mine went a while ago - started doing funny things like that on full lock and it then progressed to doing anywhere just off centre on before failing completely and going heavy.

Not cheap to fix - but I had to use a main dealer as I was in the middle of wales
