Default V4 Heads or Not? - Pics Attached

Here's what i bought, i have pulled the cams off, and checked the lifters they are solid with under bucket shims. Not to sure about the valves though hence why i have uploaded the pic and i'm not to sure about the porting on these although the seller never said they were ported.

What do you think?

Yep - STi 3~4 heads you have there Baly, even down to the EH and IH valves.
And they have got the nasty Composite head gaskets on them - should fit the Thick multi layer steel STi gaskets on them.

I will be going for the cometics Mick (that ok) but will be some time i think, got loads of other things to do first i.e. refurb of the whole house.

Ej257 still needs a full forge (pistons, rods, ARP's all over) then complete deck on torque plates before i go any further.

But where can i get 2 cam sprocket bolts and 5 rocker cover bolts?

Might be worth having the cumbustion chamber's machined out to fit the 2.5 block.

I would get the bolt's from you're dealer i bought some the otherday from mine and they were only 45p each new.

Infact i was looking into the cc'ing as you suggest, and was actually wondering how much the additional machining on these babies cost. ANy pointers would be nice.

Thanks for that bud, i shall pop down to the dealer and pick them up, got to find one local probably 50 miles away of something silly. hehe

I'm 90% sure these cams would not match/fit. But could be proved wrong by some of the pros.

V3-V4 cams physically fit. The problem is the cams aren`t made for hydraulic lifters, and will possibly eat up hydraulic lifters. Though there are plenty of people running hydraulic WRX heads and V3\4 STi cams.
