Induction or standard airbox
The car: Version 8 sti with full Milltek exhuast and K&N short ram induction with heat shield and speckle red pipework.
I know how alot of people on here feel about induction kits but this item was already installed to the car when i brought it, the problem being the car was mapped when the exhuast pipe was fitted and the car had the standard airbox, Shortly after that and just before i brought it, the K&N was fitted. Now I have been advised the car should be remapped again at a cost of around £240 to ensure the induction does not cause any damage. So the question is once remapped will the bhp be substantially higher than it was with the standard airbox? I do like the look of this induction kit and would like to keep it but if there is very little in it then i might as well just buy a second hand airbox and filter, therefore not needing a remap.
So, keep the induction kit and remap or replace standard airbox?
As for the standard airbox, is the ver8 the same as a ver7.
Long winded, i know, Sorry

As far as i'm aware it will make no noticable difference in performance mate (correct me if i'm wrong). Induction kits may suck in more air but hot air from the engine, where as strandard airboxes suck in less air but cooler. evens it out abit.
If you do decide to go standard i have a standard airbox and performance pannel filter you can have...

The New age STI airbox is very good, that good infact that most people dont upgrade to an induction kit (mormally fed from the wing/front) until they have more than 400bhp
A decent panel filter will suffice until then
