Default front mount intercooler. is it possible.........

just a quick question, if anyone can give a confident answer to.

is it possible to fit a front mount i/c and run the car without remapping?

the car in question is a UK MY99. with a TD04 turbo, custom mapped already.

the reason i ask is that i eventually want to swap the turbo ,once the i/c is in place and then get a tweek of the map, to up the power. but will want to run the car on the road for a while until i get hold of the right turbo and book a mapping session.

cheers.

Andrew.

what ecu have you got? if its a apexi, you can see the knock on the commander to keep a eye on it.

or you baybe able to get away with putting some octain booster in, to cover you until you have a remap

I ran mine (2002) for two weeks, the intercooler doesn't vastly alter the engines performance till you map it to use the extra cooling.

DON'T go racing other people, and try and keep the boost below 1 bar, or just drive like I do.....all the time.
