You'll gain at most about 5-10bhp unless you also increase the boost to take advantage of it! Ideally you will want an add in chip with optimised boost/fuel/ignition for the larger blower.

Even if you run at the same boost pressure you run the risk of running lean as the Td05 will push more air through at the same pressure.
I have recently changed mine to a Td05 but also fitted a z4 ecu off a 95 saloon which should give it 260ps as apossed to 220ps.
When changing the Td04 for the Td05 make sure you get the metal water pipes with the turbo.

Starters, more air = more power and you just said he wouldn't get any (so be consistent), second, airflow is measured by the MAF and fuelling set accordingly so it won't run lean anyway!

We were talking a straight swap of Td05 for TD04, and yes it would be just fine, boost control would be out a bit, but we were talking of running lean.
And I could hit the button lots of times if I want to, it wouldn't make me any more right!

P.S. Day job has been mapping ECU's for most of the last 18 years.

This is a place of debate and very often someone will have a different opinion or knowledge of a given subject. If it offends when someone disagrees then my suggestion is don't post.
