Default Which induction kit?

Thinking about putting an induction kit on my 95 wrx. Anybody know which is the best? Like the look of the green hks mushroom one. Thanks for any comments.

the general view is not to bother at all and just replace the standard filter (unless you're getting a FMIC).
I went with the Apexi.

Why do you need to put an induction kit on it?

The std airbox works very well.

i have a hks racing suktion kit on mine and it makes a difference in sound but as far as performance goes there is no difference but i'd also like to be so bold as to say that review is wrong about the hks filters as they dont use any oil they are a dry filter

Listen to dynamix, fitting an induction kit on a car with no front mount will make no difference at all, if anything it will reduce power due to the kit pulling hot air in. The only way to make it work is to box it in and run a cold feed from the inner wing....just like the standard air box. Just fit a good panel filter and leave it be.

I have a HKS mushroom on a apexi intake
but then it was on the car when I bought it.

I wouldn't bother with any of them, you can get good power gains from an enclosed filter and as well as having better bhp gains better value for money

Hi chaps. I've got an induction kit as t'was recommended by Bob Rawle as part of the usual grouping of cheap(ish) albeit effective initial upgrades (see +profile). Take it that I've been "diddled"

TX.

The APS cold air kit is excellent but you'll need a remap.
Apexi is also very very good.
K&N also very good.

the main reasons i want an induction kit is for the sounds and better throttle responce.im not worried about extra power as its qiuick enough as it is, but obviously i dont wana lose power.can anyone honestly say theyve fitted an induction kit and noticed a decrease in power?
cheers.

You will not get any better throttle response from fitting an IK, An engine needs cold air to produce more power an Ik does not provide cold air. There is a good chance your engine will loose power. DO NOT FIT ONE!!

You won't really notice any power increase just from fitting a filter on it's own.

If it's noise you want then remove the pipe that sits in the inner wing that connects to the airbox.

ok mate thanks for your input. i understand what your saying about it drawing in hot air but wouldnt it make the engine breath more freely cause your doing away with the airbox and simplyfying the route of the intake?

i have had a couple of air intakes cold air intakes and short ram air intakes and they wernt that great i went back to my standard air box and just upgraded to a k&n panel filter and took the rest of the parts off the air box and ran a 2.5" ducting hose from open fog light cover into the air box from the inner guard for straight cold air flow and works just as good.

pick what ever one you think just listen to some advice these guys on here give you before you rush into sticking any poor parts on your motor.

yeah i think im gona stick with my standard air box and k&n panel filter. u say that u ran a ducting hose from the airbox to the front bumper but isnt there already a ducting hose as standard or have u just made a better one?

Any gain made in freeing up air flow would be lost with the hot air being pulled in. Cold air is more dense so you get more of it into the engine which creates more power.

Adding a cold feed to an IK is just copying what subaru created in the shape of your OE air box.

i was looking at the plastic ducting pipe which connects to the air box to behind the front bumper and theres some mesh at the end which must prevent any debri going up the pipe.this looks very restrictive.to think the engine is only sucking in air through quite a small pipe.
