Default FLAMES!!!

I have a 96 wrx with 3''turbo back exhaust, FMIC and induction kit.

What other MOD's do i need to do so that she spits flames out of the exhaust. (don't want to put a flamer kit on). Just been overtaken by a Bug eye which was spitting massive flames out.. looked quality!!!!

Any help would be appreciated..

On ecutek I think they can map in some mild anti lag to make some pops and bangs, flames etc.

My old 320hp blob used to spit them (de-cat, uprated VTA bov) when driven hard, particuarly on downshifting.

Either that or get an aftermarket ECU and get switchable anti-lag

Bit of flaming....hmm...no that bad, but if a car is anti-lag enabled and the driver likes using it often, then it can decrease turbo life, short 30-40 sec burst seem ok, but as you see with full on WRC cars, they have it on nearly continuously, but they get re-build often.

Most tuned cars run slightly rich, I always get a strong petrol smell when I really welly it, but only when accelerating on full chat.

Too much popping and banging can result in borewash which is not a good thing.

Vent to atmosphere. (vta) rather than recirc back into the inlet hoses.

This is not as common as you think, its a bit of a myth tbh, pops and bangs can easily be controlled once you get used to how and when it comes on, with ecu'tek, a small LED can be fitted to flash when its reached the parameters of mild mapped in anti-lag, thereby being able to use it sensibly, and not scorching the coppers bumper who might be behind you...lol

Just a bit of overfueling on gearchange and a very hot exhaust and away it goes.

Been there done that. I'd been giving mine a bit of stick out in the twisties and approached a built up area so slowed down. I pulled up to some lights and a policeman pulled out of a junction behind me. The lights changed and I pulled away gently. Things must have still been hot because when i changed from 1st to 2nd crack pop bang flash a big hoofer came out. I saw the tail of it in my rear view mirror. I was certian I was in for hard time from the plod behind me. They pulled along side me gave me a nod, the thumbs up and then on came the blues and they sped off. I was gobsmacked.

This current build will have circa 600bhp and full blown anti lag

Thats next for me, a Motec or Hydra and some anti-lag, switchable though, can't be abusing that turbo too much
