Too Much Oil - Should I Worry ?
Monday morning, running late for work.
Was going to check oil on Sunday, but forgot.
Checked oil on Mon, was too low, so topped it up rather enthusiastically.
Drive to work.
Tues morning, better check level again, sh** it's way too high.
Running late for work (again), better drive to work, no hard acceleration (d'oh).
I have a track day tomorrow, so toss up is....
A) Let some oil out tonight, but I have no spare sump washer.
B) Do nothing, and hope the engine is ok.
I guess option 1 is better, provided I check for sump leakages at the track day ???
So, is too much oil bad ??
If so, why ??
What components are affected ??
Thx.

I've reused my washer without problems before. Just watch out for the oil running down your arm and then down you side while you try and put the plug back in! Brake cleaner is a bit chilly on the skin in this weather
All the cars that I have owned so far, it is 1L of oil to take it from minimum to maximum. In future, make a note of what yours would take and then use the markings on the bottle to work out how much to pour in. I aim for 3/4 to full between min & max.
