Short Distance Start Up Probelm???
Hi guys,
I've got a ver 3 WRX and up until recently it has never cuased me a problem when starting.
However, five to six times recently after a short journey, less than a mile it refuses to start first time like normal, and instead I have to crank it for around 1-2 mins.
It is behaving as if it is flooded, which I've looked into and can find no other sign of.
I've done all he normal things changed the plugs and so on but still no joy.
If I go for a long run or longer than a mile, it starts up no problem, but aything less it does it.
Someone told me it could be the crank sensor.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Ou might be sufering from excess fuel being sent through the engine when it's cold, (as if the choke were on in an older car) then, when you go to restart it, the sensor in the exhaust sense the fuel in the system, and lowers the amount of fuel then being sent in....... hence it then won;t start... until the engine has pushed enough air through to make the sensor read fresh air, and not fuel rich air!
