Default ECU reset after chipping - can anyone help?!

I've just had my 03 plate WRX chipped by Prochips but haven't noticed much improvement! Can anyone tell me whether the ECU should be reset after chipping, or whether it is automatically reset as part of the process?

If not, should I expect to notice an increase in power once the ECU is reset? Any ideas how much a reset would cost?

Prochips didn't give me a before / after dyno sheet showing BHP and torque, is this usual for a chipping company? Finally, how much would it cost to out my car on a rolling road to check the power and torque now?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

I've just had mine remapped by Prochips the other day and thought exactly the same thing! I'm taking mine to Dyno Demon in Neston tomorrow to go on the rolling road.

If it's not given me the 42-45bhp extra I was promised I'll be going back to Prochips to get my money back!

generic chips/maps on scoobs are a very bad idea, you get what you pay for im afraid. a decent map should set you back around 600ish depending on where you go.

Probably just a boost clamp, much like the old Superchip and early 01-03 Prodrive upgrade.
If they try too hard the car will det, the ecu will then pull timing and you will be back where you started.

I put mine on the rollers on Tuesday after the remap by Prochips - 280BHP!?

If my car was standard before the remap @ 221BHP, the BHP has gone up by nearly 60bhp. It went on the dyno at Dyno Demon in Neston. The reason I've not felt it is I reckon is because I was expecting the power increase to come in at about 3000rpm, but the remap by Pro Chips basically added the extra power at 4000rpm where the boost kicked in anyway. But although this sounds absolutely ridiculous, after the remap it does feel faster because I know where the power is now. Also, the guys there said the sensors should learn the new program in the ECU over the next 2 - 3 weeks and you should feel a bit more of an improvement again. It's been nearly a week now and it does feel quite a lot different now especially in the higher gears.

Get it on the rollers mate, that's the only way you're gonna know how much extra power you've achieved and also where you have achieved it.

LOL, these ECU learn in a few miles not weeks.
Also is this a 'Chip' or do they actually reflash the ECU.

seems to me that the OP and contributor wre feeling bumped because they couldnt feel and increase but Foxo became happy with a printout saying it is faster.
dude, 60 extra brake and a fistful of torque will feel quick, if your butt dyno says no then go with it.
