Your car is never producing 350bhp @ 1bar on any standard VF turbo.
My very highly modded 99 sti 5 engine (same as yours) managed 360 @ 1.6bar peak on a VF28.
I'd suggest taking your car to another dyno for a comparison figure. I think you'll find there'll be quite a large discrepancy!!!

Sorry mate but you're dreaming. Sounds like your mate is talking rubbish too.
At best, let's say your on the VF28 turbo at 1 bar you'll be lucky to break 300bhp.
You're probably quicker off the mark than your mate because of the type R gearing and the fact if he's running a turbo big enough to push 1.8 bar without ****ting itself then he probably hasn't even spooled up yet. Try keeping with him on a decent run if he's running 396bhp
But back to the original point there's no VF turbo that will deliver 350bhp @ 1bar

^^^ What he said^^^
For a genuine and reliable 450, probably best to go 2.5 route. you're looking at 10k+ to do it properly.
You could make the late 300s with your car with MUCH less expenditure.

yellow injectors = 440cc
best I managed on yellows was 330bhp safe or pushing them for 340bhp, that was with increased pressure as well and a regulator which you havent listed.
lol, not the responses you wanted Im guessing

Give him a break guys, at least he's not coming on here and being arsey and arrogant about what he think's he's cars making, some have in the past.
He's just going by what the Dyno Printout is showing him, whether its right or wrong is another matter but the replies will show him that perhaps they are not.
Lets make Friday a Special Day for someone....

All so to point out 450 bhp dose not have to cost you 10K, You can do it for less, I'm just about to start i build and will put up all the parts i get a prices very soon so people can see it dose not cost as much as you may think.
You will need a new gearbox dou, I blow up a RA box with a TD04H at about 320bhp.
Look out for my thread very soon

Wasting money already
That turbo is a lot of money and a FP Green or red will do the same job for less £££. Area 52 Autosport On-line shop
Headers, Im using the one's i have on the car what have been ported and have been told that is good enough for the job.
740's, check out the for sale section or there about £350 new i think

gt30r will require up and down pipes, racegate and will be good for 520bhp roughly, its a full gt series garrett turbo.
you have to ask why you want 400 brake.
you will pull length on a similarly powered car because the typeR gearing is so short, you will lose out at top speed though.
