strugglin to start n fans kick in straight away
as above does anyone have idea what it could b its me neighbours type r 97 cheers sound rough too

coolant temp sensor (or associated wiring) on the water crossover pipe it will start eventually but will take some cranking, had the same problem on mine and turned out one of the pins had popped out on the wiring loom multi plugs by the battery.

try ecu reset first ,had the same problem with mine and it was the coolant
temp sender telling the ecu engine was warm (when it was really cold)
this sensor is a bit ov a chew t change due to its location,if you do change it remeber t reset ecu (to clear fault)
