Exclamation WTF! WHAT THE HELL'S THIS?!?!

I was replacing some jubilee clips on the 90-deg pipe from MAF to 2nd resonator (93 WRX), when I came across this unconnected socket?...





Anyone knows what it's for, etc?

dont know what it is but it looks bloody clean to have been in a engine bay for so long, is there no obvious place to plug it back into ?

Ah, you could be right, as about 2 months ago I did indeed have a decat fitted at Zen's. That said, I can't believe it'd reach though...

on your original exhaust there is a thermocouple sensor (egt essentially) just after the cat dont know exactly what its for have asked myself but thats the plug for it.

agreed! Cat on Fire plug matie. Just leave it. Or tape it up to stop crap getting in there

Thanks for the interest and confirmation folks! ... For a while there, I was worried that a major component wasn't connected up, that should've been, lol.

im just curious but if the cat is on fire wat is the ecu gona do about it lol ring the fire brigade?

Yep. It definitely plugs into the 'cat on fire' EGT sensor's connector. See here...
