w6 ecu is designed to run with a td05 turbo (early wrx standard turbo) sio if your's is running a td05 shouldn't be a problem BUT there are better early ecus to fit (Z4 is one of them)

im thinking ov getting one chipped by polar performance so whats the best one to get ? i still want to use the td04 with a full decat an panel filter.

The best option is always a remappable one imo but the chips that Scott T sells have got many supporters on here but it all depends on how far you want to take the modifying of your car.
Be wary of ebay specials though as a t least with Scott T you will get customer support.

im not after massive bhp as im on a budget just a bit more power than the 220ps that its got my mates has got 280bhp an it pulls alot better so that kind ov mark would be nice ive seen the cr#p on flebay an ill be stayin away

Like i said depends on your budget as to just put the chip in without taking fuelling would be a bit dodgy and an uprated fuel pump is only £80
